The next Bake-Off is fast approaching

IWI Basel

Our second Bake-Off of the year will take place on 21st October 2018 at Markthalle in Basel. Non-members are welcome to participate. Our chosen charity for this Bake-Off is the Surprise Strassenchor and 50% of the proceeds go to support this incredible charity. 

This is a ‘fun’ event and all you eager amateur bakers (sweet-bakes only please) – both IWI and non-members are welcome to enter!

There are two categories;

  • Children (under 16’s) 
  • Adults.

There are ‘prizes’ and certificates for 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed winners. 

Judging starts at 10:30 and all sweet bakes are for sale from 11:00 to 15:00.

Home-made savoury bakes are on sale from 10:30 – Go on, treat yourself!

The IWI Basel Spring Charity Bake-Off 2018

Our big fundraiser of the year where 50% of our profits go to our chosen charity: Frauenhaus Basel

15th April, 2018 at Markthalle, Basel

The Bake Off is a baking competition where our finest home-baked goods go under the scrutiny of our judges to decide who is the top baker in Basel! We sell portions of the entries to raise money as well as selling other savoury baked goods.

We will raffle off luxury hampers containing food, drink, and gifts to three lucky winners and also sell handmade crafts.

The Winter IWI Basel Charity ‘Bake-Off’ 2017

This is a ‘fun’ event and all you eager amateur bakers – both IWI and non-members are welcome to enter!

  • age 12 & under,
  • 13-17 
  • adults.

Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer

IWI Basel

With the summer slowly coming to a close and a very hectic calendar ahead for the members of the IWI Basel. I thought we should take some time to reflect on the last couple of months, where we have met for either IWI events or just as good friends. We had an ‘American style BBQ’ evening, Swimming in the Rhine, and a fab Gin-tasting evening, which was very informative! Basel Refugee Day which raised 850 CHF for Soup & Chill, a charity that supports the homeless in Basel. We received our brand new (and very popular) IWI aprons and some of our members have gone into training with their running shoes on (keep it up, ladies). 

This week we had our members meeting to discuss the rest of the year, and we have 21 planned events! We expect some busy months ahead, and some great fun.
